The Tell-Tale Heart The Tell-Tale Heart is a short story by Edgar Allan Poe, narrated in the first person. It is the coolness with which the fibber recounts the killing the elderly man, that reveals his paranoia and psychosis. The teller calmly relates the story to a nonher person who is not identified (in my feeling this person may be a judge, warden or mayhap even a psychiatrist). This is what captured my attention and, it pulled me in the story. The story isnt roughly the narrators innocence but about his sanity. As he retells the story, he is actually admitting to the crime and is felonious of murder. He continues to sweep to this second party that he isnt insane, that what he did was all rational and sane, ergo; a rational explanation for unlog ical behavior. His reason for murder was simple; in his mind it was fateful and called for. He says that the idea of murder, Haunted me daylight and night.

The narrator also claims he has over insight of the senses something that led me to believe that the man suffered from severe madness because he was cunningly careful. In his calm recapping of the story, the narrator continues to insist that he is sane. His justification of the murder was that the elderly man (presumably his father in my opinion) had an evil plaza that stares at him day and night.
